Apple WatchOS 9 – All You Need To Know The Update

The apple watch experience begins with apple watch faces, allowing users to express their style while connecting them to relevant information at a glance. As part of watchOS 9, four new faces are introduced. The lunar calendar illustrates the relationship between the gregorian calendar and the lunar calendar. It is used in many cultures, including Chinese, Islamic, and Hebrew. There have been some advances and enhancements made to the watchOS in areas where previous updates and versions had some complications.

Now, they have solved issues related to apple watches‘ faces, including utility, simplicity, and activity analog. With the new portrait’s face, you can see depth effects on more photos, including photos of cats, dogs, and landscapes. Find out what’s coming to the best apple watch in the fall with these features you may have missed.

WatchOS 9 is supported by what devices?

As of September through November, Apple said watchOS 9 will be available. There will be a free update available for Apple Watch 4 and later. Here are some examples of apple smartwatches that fall under that category:

  • Apple Watch 4
  • Apple Watch 5
  • Apple Watch 6
  • Apple Watch 7
  • Apple Watch SE

Note: It must also be paired with an iOS 16-compatible iPhone.

What’s new in watchOS 9

Aside from the four new apple watch faces. WatchOS 9 has some dynamic changes, which are as follows:

Fitness and health updates

Health and fitness tracking are undoubtedly one of the most popular uses for apple watch owners. WatchOS 9 will not only add a new workout type but will also include more workout metrics in general, which will be a huge boon for people who want them.

As a starting point, you can create your own workouts in the apple workout app using custom workouts. Even structured intervals are possible, which means you can include rest intervals between sets, reps, or whatever you want.

Furthermore, the multisport workout will be a dream come true for triathletes everywhere since you will be able to track your running, swimming, and cycling at the same time. As well as automatically switching between the three activities, the Apple Watch uses sensors to track your movements so that it can automatically switch between them. If you’re training for a triathlon, you just have to start one workout and forget about it.

As a final feature, wachOS 9 offers a variety of new metrics to track for workouts. Runners can get advanced metrics, such as stride length, ground contact time, and vertical oscillation, which can be very useful in tracking performance.

Swimmers will also benefit from watchOS 9‘s ability to automatically detect kickboards and classify stroke types in workout summaries. Additionally, you will be able to track your SWOLF score. It will be much easier to track your laps in the pool this way.

Sleep management and medication

Well, I mentioned the fitness aspects already, but the apple watch can also help you to take better care of your health. Apple’s new medications app is probably one of the more useful health-related apps it’s released in a while. The ability to keep track of all the medications my parents are taking for multiple health complications will be a huge relief to them as a child of parents who are getting older and taking more medication.  Tracking your medication isn’t the only thing you need to do.

You will be able to find out whether your medication will interact with any other medications you are taking, which is a huge benefit. This will ensure that you don’t mix anything that could be harmful to you by accident.

Users can now get a regular breakdown of REM, core, and deep sleep patterns with the improved sleep tracking system.

In spite of the fact that smartwatches like Fitbit and Garmin already include sleep management applications, Apple has included them for the first time in its new segment.

Conclusion

You will miss out on all the upgrades coming with watchOS 9 if you do not use an apple watch 4 or later, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you need to replace it right away. Your old apple watch 3 will still work as well as it always has, even if it doesn’t offer the same fitness and health support. It is likely that you will encounter some compatibility issues as watchOS 9 and iOS 16 become more closely integrated, but in general, your device should continue to function normally.

The apple watch is getting a lot of new features with the new features Apple announced during the keynote for watchOS 9, as well as all the other little tweaks we are sure to find as we explore the beta more.
